STATEMENT
My “head” sculptures take an in-depth look into the inner workings of the mind and its mechanical processes. The manifestation of perception, reasoning, reflection, contemplation, anguish, emotion, and passion are brought to (and into) the surface of these “heads” using tools and other manufactured objects as the visual devices. The heads represent the everyday common man, the shape and colors are not intended to be a representation of any specific being but act as the canvas that all viewers can relate to. A closer look will show that each head is unique into itself, with variations in the characteristics of the sculpt.
The “heads” are design to initiate a reaction from the viewer, not necessarily the same from each viewer, but something that touches upon what is happening in the viewers’ own head.
